IS VV OK? is Vivien Yap's debut album which took more than 3 years to make. Why so long? Because she spent more than a thousand days chasing down what was just a deep desire to be loved. It took so long to make because somewhere in that journey, she did find love. Then she got distracted and forgot to release the album. Of course she also got dropped by her label, but whatever. She is now a free woman. She has never been under lock and key anyway.

The album cover is drawn by Esther, who goes by @douchebagbobo online. Esther did the art for my first ever EP, and it just made sense that they would have to also do the cover of my first album. What was not obvious is how they sent me the final draft in 2023. And it is 2026 now. I'm sorry Esther. I am the douchebagbobo this time round.
The brief was: So... like I want to SPRING out of something, like bursting out at full velocity. Imagine the music JERKING out of me, GUSHING out of my meaty human body. The songs are angry, vicious, honest.
I think Esther has a wicked sense of humour. When we first met in 2017/2018, we were both awkward. But now we are even more awkward in that we are pretending to functioning members of the working society.
CREDITS
I would be nothing without the talented musicians who have been so generous, kind and same-same crazy to want to create music with me. The studio is my favourite place to be, and this journey has taken me to three different studios, and each visit has seen me melt deeper and deeper into various pieces of furniture as my collaborators have in turn become friends. Thank you for your flowers, you are my day ones, and I carry all of you in every single song I write.
